Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. Two individuals have been arrested for spreading false information that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent greetings to the senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RASWA), Balendra Shah (Balen).
According to the spokesperson of Nepal Police, DIG Abi Narayan Kafle, the arrested individuals are Ramchandra Thakur and Nand Prasad Bhatt.

They are accused of using an AI-generated video to falsely claim that Modi had personally wished Balen.
Balen Shah, the former mayor of Kathmandu, is contesting as a candidate for the House of Representatives from Jhapa-5. The Nepal Police have taken strong action against individuals spreading fake news.
