Kavre: Banepa became tense and chaotic after a tipper truck hit a scooter, killing one person. The market quickly turned into a battleground as enraged locals set the tipper on fire and staged protests, leading to clashes with police.
The accident occurred near the Telecommunications Office in Banepa, where the scooter rider died and another person was injured. On Wednesday morning, a tipper (Bagmati Province 01004 K 3423) struck a scooter (Bagmati Province 02–063 P 9189). When protesters attempted to burn the tipper, police responded by firing tear gas.
