Kathmandu: CPN-UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali has decided to limit his candidacy to the Central Committee membership only. Although KP Sharma Oli’s panel included him in the Vice President list, Gyawali made it clear he will not contest any position other than General Secretary.

According to sources, he maintained this stance during a discussion on Sunday evening in Gundu. This morning, Gyawali left the Bhadrakutimandap session hall visibly upset and later returned to submit his nomination, reportedly in tears.
Speaking to close aides, Gyawali criticized the practice of repeating the same individual for multiple positions and emphasized that the party should provide equal opportunity to all. He confirmed that aside from Central Committee membership, he will not pursue any other post, remaining committed to party activism.
