Active in the Maoist movement for over three decades, Dhital issued a statement Friday saying he will no longer remain even a general member. He criticized the party for deviating from its revolutionary path following its merger into the NCP.

Dhital condemned Prachanda’s leadership, accusing him of being consumed by the pursuit of power and reducing the party from a revolutionary force to a factional player focused on parliamentary politics. He also accused internal factions of undermining revolutionary youth leadership and fostering nepotism, factionalism, cronyism, and corruption.

Reflecting on his decades-long contributions and literary works, Dhital said he will now dedicate himself to a new political campaign with fresh ideas and younger leadership, committed to a progressive national movement.
