Kathmandu — A government study has revealed the salary structure of chief executives of public institutions in Nepal, exposing a wide gap in earnings among top officials.
According to the report, the highest-paid executive is the CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB), who earns Rs 450,000 per month, including benefits. The CEOs of Agricultural Development Bank and Nepal Bank each receive Rs 400,000, while the CEO of Nepal Tourism Board earns Rs 391,000 monthly.
Similarly, the executive director of the Nepal Electricity Authority receives Rs 294,000, and the chiefs of Nepal Telecom and the Social Security Fund earn around Rs 250,000.
Nepal Rastra Bank’s governor ranks 13th on the list with a salary of Rs 216,113 per month.

At the bottom of the chart is the CEO of Nepal Railway Company, earning only Rs 56,787 monthly—the lowest among all public institution chiefs.
This salary list is based on the government’s official study of state-funded authorities, boards, and public enterprises.
