Kathmandu — The government has arranged employment for the wife of late journalist Suresh Rajak. With the initiative of Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel, Sujan Magi has been appointed as a computer operator at the Ministry’s Security Printing Center.
On Tuesday, Minister Kharel, Secretary Radhika Aryal, and Executive Director of the Security Printing Fund, Devaraj Dhungana, handed over her appointment letter.
Minister Kharel highlighted the need for the state’s protective role as journalists often work under risky conditions. He said that this small initiative is expected to provide some comfort to the family.
The minister also confirmed that the process to declare Suresh Rajak a journalist martyr is underway, and arrangements will be made for free higher education for his family.
Rajak’s relative, Purushottam Magi, urged the authorities to ensure justice for the journalist, proceed with martyr recognition, and establish a memorial at Tinkune.
