Kathmandu—The Supreme Court has issued an interim order blocking the removal of five Madhes Province lawmakers. Speaker Ramchandra Mandal had dismissed four MPs from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) and one from the Nagarik Unmukti Party on Kartik 27.
Those removed were JSP lawmakers Manish Kumar Suman, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Singhshan Sah Kalwar, Sarada Shankar Sah Kalbanar, and Nagarik Unmukti Party MP Urmila Singh.
After they filed a writ petition challenging the Speaker’s decision, Justice Nityananda Pandey’s bench ordered that the five lawmakers should not be relieved of their posts for now.
