Kathmandu — In a sudden political twist, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Santosh Pariyar has resigned from the party. The former chief whip submitted his resignation to acting president DP Aryal and general secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, announcing that he will now pursue a new political campaign.
Pariyar said he was unable to establish his ideas within the party despite continuous discussions and expressed disappointment that he couldn’t help shape a political ideology suited to Nepal’s social character. Citing the recent “Gen Z uprising” as proof that the old political structure cannot survive, he declared he would hold no position in the RSP from Kartik 28.

Pariyar had been actively involved in the leadership change debate within the party. Due to his communist background, he is reportedly in discussions with Janardan Sharma, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Biplab, and Manushi Yami. Earlier, Sumana Shrestha had also quit the party, expressing dissatisfaction with the leadership.
Pariyar has started discussions with Janardan Sharma, who left the Maoist Centre. Pariyar and Sharma, who left the RSP to start a new campaign, are currently in discussion.
