Chand, from Bhalchaur-7, Salyan, was enrolled in MSc Communications and Information Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, and was scheduled to receive his certificate the following day.

According to his roommate Manoj Kunwar, Chand had complained of mild illness and a headache on Monday morning. He went to Central London in the afternoon to eat with friends. That night, he returned home, ate dinner around midnight, and slept at 1:30 a.m. in the same room.

Police and medical teams initially determined it as a ‘natural death’. The body will be sent for a post-mortem after forensic procedures.

NRNA UK President Rajendra Pudasaini stated that, in coordination with the family, university, and friends, arrangements for the funeral would be made, along with financial and moral support, and raising awareness within the Nepali community.

Pudasaini emphasized, “Nepali students in the UK face challenges related to housing, employment, mental health, and safety. The community must actively raise awareness about these issues.”
