Kathmandu – Prakash Shah, a central committee member of the CPN-UML, has joined the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’ He officially entered the party during a special event held at the Rastriya Sabha Griha in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
A resident of Bajura, Shah was also the parliamentary party leader of the UML in the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly. During his speech, he referred to Prachanda as the “architect of republican Nepal” and sharply criticized UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
Shah remarked, “The seasons have changed, the times have changed, but KP Oli’s arrogance has not changed.” He also accused Oli of suppressing the voice of senior leader Bhim Rawal.
Calling for unity among leftist forces, Shah said the era has demanded that all communists come together to address the nation’s ongoing crisis. His move is seen as a sign of the growing attraction of UML leaders toward Prachanda’s newly formed party.
