Kathmandu: The new political party linked to Kulman Ghising will be named “Ujyalo Nepal,” following an internal agreement reached on Monday morning. According to party leader Jitram Lama, discussions had continued until Sunday night over whether to name it “Nepal Janasewa Party,” but a consensus was ultimately reached on “Ujyalo Nepal.”

Lama said the party plans to propose an electric lamp as its election symbol. The party will be registered with the Election Commission under the coordination of former Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay, who will also lead a 51-member central committee.
Although Ghising will not take immediate leadership, he currently serves as the Minister for Energy, Physical Infrastructure, and Urban Development in the interim government led by Sushila Karki.
Sources close to Ghising claim that Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah will also support the new party. Meanwhile, it remains uncertain whether former Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Sumana Shrestha will join the initiative.
