Kathmandu – Former Member of Parliament from the Nepali Congress, Mohammad Aftab Alam, has passed away. He had been undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) since the second week of Kartik. He died last night.

Alam was admitted to the hospital after experiencing heart-related complications. He had also suffered a brain stroke shortly after being released from Nakkhu prison in the month of Jestha.

Alam had been accused of burning injured victims alive in a brick kiln during preparations for the 2064 BS (2007 AD) elections, following a bomb explosion.
