Sapkota explained that her intention is not to provoke but to empower. She said women must be strong, independent, and self-respecting, emphasizing that marriage should never be the only gateway to motherhood.

In a recent TV interview, she said, “I don’t want to get married right now, but I do want a child. If I don’t get married in a few years, I will still have a baby.”

She also argued that a child’s legal identity should come through the mother, even if the father is unknown. According to her, society must accept that single motherhood is a personal choice, not a taboo.

Namrata highlighted that women today have access to modern reproductive technologies like test-tube baby (IVF), giving them full control over their bodies and motherhood decisions. She even mentioned that she could consider the same path herself.

Her statement has gone viral, drawing both admiration and criticism — with some calling her brave and progressive, while others accuse her of challenging traditional norms.
