Kathmandu—Police have arrested two young women accused of vandalizing the house of Budhanilkantha Municipality Mayor Mitharam Adhikari during a recent ‘Gen Z’ protest in Kathmandu.

According to the Valley Police Office, the arrested women are 20-year-old Nisha Rai from Mai Municipality-8, Ilam, and 22-year-old Ayusha Kumal from Hastichaur Rural Municipality-2, Gulmi. They were taken into custody from Gairigaun, Budhanilkantha, on Wednesday.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that the two had taken advantage of the protest on Bhadra 24 to vandalize the mayor’s house. The incident occurred during a demonstration linked to the Gen Z movement.
Both suspects are currently under investigation at the Bauddha Police Circle, police confirmed.
