The Al-Nassr striker, who has scored 952 goals for club and country, is football’s all-time leading scorer. Ronaldo, who recently spoke about chasing 1,000 career goals, told Piers Morgan Uncensored that his retirement is not far away.

“I think I’ll be ready. It will be very, very hard,” said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. “Since I was 25 or 27, I’ve been preparing for my future. Nothing compares to the adrenaline of scoring goals, but everything has a beginning and an end.”

Ronaldo said he now wants to spend more time with his family and children, calling it an important next chapter.

The former Manchester United forward added that he still follows his old club’s results, even after leaving them three years ago following a disappointing second spell.

“I’m sad because United is one of the most important clubs in the world — a club still in my heart,” Ronaldo said. “But they lack structure. I hope things change soon; the club has incredible potential.”

Ronaldo also praised manager Ruben Amorim, saying, “He’s doing his best — but miracles don’t happen in football.”
