Kathmandu – Dr. Nicholas Bhusal has just been arrested. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office apprehended him in Gorkha. He was arrested on Tuesday from Saraswati Ashram in Gorkha Municipality–8. Police are now preparing to bring him to Kathmandu.

Bhusal had previously made controversial statements on social media. He was under police surveillance following the GenZ movement and had been issuing remarks against CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah. He had also launched a campaign declaring his intention to become Prime Minister after the upcoming elections.
This is not his first arrest—Bhusal was previously detained from Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu. At that time, police claimed he had consumed banned narcotics and handed him over to his relatives. Bhusal has since maintained that the police framed him in that incident.
