According to DSP Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of Jhapa Police, Sharma’s car (Province 01–03 Ch 7194) was found burned in the Hatemalo Community Forest of Mechinagar-13 two days earlier.

Police have arrested two suspects believed to be involved in the murder. One of them sustained burns on his hand, reportedly while setting the vehicle on fire. The motive behind the killing remains under investigation.

Sharma, an IT professional living in Kathmandu, had returned home to celebrate Dashain and Tihar and was preparing to return to the capital after Chhath. His body was found buried under the bridge, covered with metal sheets.

Following the discovery, locals vandalized the house of one of the suspects, Rahul Sah, and damaged a tempo believed to have been used to transport the body.
