Kathmandu — The hearing of the case against Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and former Gorkha Media director Chhabilal Joshi, who are in custody for cooperative fraud and organized crime, has been postponed.

The joint bench of Justices Omprakash Aryal and Tejnarayan Paudel at the High Court, Tulsipur, Butwal, postponed the hearing upon a request from Joshi’s legal representatives.
In the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, Lamichhane had deposited his share of the restitution amount, but the District Court rejected his release on 26 Shrawan. Lamichhane filed an appeal at the High Court on 9 Bhadra.
The case involves a total collective restitution of NPR 10.99 crore against all defendants, including Lamichhane. He had submitted NPR 2.74 crore as bank bail, while Joshi submitted an equivalent amount.
Both are currently in custody. Lamichhane has been transferred from Bhairahwa Prison to Nakkhu Prison, Lalitpur, while Joshi remains in Bhairahwa Prison.
