Solukhumbu — An Altitude Air helicopter crashed in Lobuche, Solukhumbu. According to Chief District Officer Lilakumari KC Pandey, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when the helicopter slipped while attempting to land at the Lobuche helipad.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Manojit Kunwar confirmed that there were no passengers onboard besides the pilot. The pilot, Vivek Khadka, is reported to be safe and unharmed. According to Lukla Airport officials, the helicopter—bearing the call sign Alpha Mike Sierra—slipped during its landing at 8:15 AM. It had departed from Lukla at 7:43 AM on a rescue mission to Lobuche.

Videos of tourists shouting “Oh! A helicopter crash!” during the incident have surfaced on social media.
Altitude Air’s Executive Chairman, Nima Nuru Sherpa, also stated that Captain Khadka is doing fine. A Kailash Air helicopter is en route from Lukla to pick him up.
