Kathmandu — In the third match of the Tri-Nation Women’s International Friendlies 2025, Nepal defeated India in a dramatic encounter. Nepal won the match 2–1, stunning the hosts at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.

This match was lit up by Sabitra Bhandari’s performance! The Wellington Phoenix striker scored twice, helping the Gorkhali Chelis secure a thoroughly deserved victory.

This was the final fixture of the tournament, with both teams entering the match after suffering defeats against Iran — India lost 0–2, while Nepal went down 0–3.

For both sides, this match was a battle to restore pride. India’s Blue Tigresses were hoping to return to winning form ahead of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 in Australia.
