Kathmandu — Nepal’s second biggest festival, Tihar, is expected to have generally fair weather. According to the Department of Meteorology, due to the influence of western winds, some hilly regions of the country will experience partly to moderately cloudy conditions.

Although no significant weather system is affecting the country, the western winds may cause partial to moderate cloudiness in the hilly areas. During Tihar, isolated rainfall is possible in a few hilly locations, and light rain or snowfall may occur in the high Himalayan regions.

Weather Forecast from Kartik 3 to Kartik 6 (Tihar Period):
– Kartik 3 (Laxmi Puja Day): Partly cloudy in hilly regions; mostly clear in other areas. Light rain possible in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
– Kartik 4: Similar conditions — partly cloudy in hilly regions; mostly clear elsewhere. Isolated light rain possible in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

– Kartik 5: Partly to moderately cloudy in hilly regions; mostly clear in other areas. Light rain and snowfall possible in a few high hill and Himalayan locations of Koshi and Karnali provinces.
– Kartik 6 (Bhai Tika Day): Partly to moderately cloudy in hilly regions
