15 October, Kathmandu – According to the exchange rates published by Nepal Rastra Bank for 15 October, the US dollar continues to trade at a high rate.

Compared to yesterday, the dollar has seen a slight increase, while the Euro and Pound Sterling have declined.

– Today’s exchange rate for USD: Buying rate is NPR 141.78 and selling rate is NPR 142.38.
Yesterday: NPR 141.58 (buying) and NPR 142.18 (selling).
The continuous rise in the dollar’s value has raised concerns about increased costs in Nepal’s import-dependent market.

– Euro and Pound Sterling:
– Euro: Buying rate is NPR 163.85 and selling rate is NPR 164.54 — about 15 paisa cheaper than yesterday.
– Pound Sterling: Buying rate is NPR 188.16 and selling rate is NPR 188.95 — about 75 paisa drop from yesterday.

Australian and Canadian Dollars Decline

– Australian Dollar: Buying rate is NPR 91.50 and selling rate is NPR 91.89 — around 70 paisa lower than yesterday.
– Canadian Dollar: Buying rate is NPR 100.79 and selling rate is NPR 101.22.

Scandinavian Currencies

– Swedish Krona: Buying rate is NPR 14.85 and selling rate is NPR 14.92.
– Danish Krona: Buying rate is NPR 21.94 and selling rate is NPR 22.03.

Mixed Trends in Asian Currencies

– Japanese Yen (per 10 units): Buying rate is NPR 9.33 and selling rate is NPR 9.36.
– Chinese Yuan: Stable at NPR 19.86 (buying) and NPR 19.94 (selling).
– Thai Baht: Declined to NPR 4.32 (buying) and NPR 4.34 (selling).
– South Korean Won (per 100 units): Buying rate is NPR 9.88 and selling rate is NPR 9.93.
– Hong Kong Dollar: Buying rate is NPR 18.24 and selling rate is NPR 18.31.

Gulf Currencies Show Slight Increase

This offers some relief to families of Nepali workers in Gulf countries.

– Saudi Riyal: Buying rate is NPR 37.80 and selling rate is NPR 37.96.
– Qatari Riyal: Buying rate is NPR 38.90 and selling rate is NPR 39.06.
– UAE Dirham: Buying rate is NPR 38.60 and selling rate is NPR 38.76.
– Malaysian Ringgit: Buying rate is NPR 33.52 and selling rate is NPR 33.66.
– Kuwaiti Dinar: Buying rate is NPR 461.79 and selling rate is NPR 463.75.
– Bahraini Dinar: Buying rate is NPR 376.09 and selling rate is NPR 377.69.
– Omani Riyal: Buying rate is NPR 368.24 and selling rate is NPR 369.80.

These increases suggest a rise in the value of remittances sent by Nepali workers in the Gulf.

Indian Rupee Remains Stable

As usual, the exchange rate for INR 100 is NPR 160 (buying) and NPR 160.15 (selling).

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these rates may be revised as needed. Commercial banks may offer different rates, and updated exchange rates are available on the central bank’s website.
