Kathmandu – In a nail-biting encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier Super Six, Nepal edged past UAE by just 1 run. Chasing Nepal’s target of 141, UAE managed 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite a valiant half-century from Alishan Sharafu, who scored 58 runs, and Dhruv Parashar’s 38, UAE fell just short of the target.

Earlier, Nepal won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Aasif Sheikh led the innings with a solid half-century, scoring 51 runs off 47 balls. Kushal Bhurtel contributed 28 runs, captain Rohit Paudel added 20, and Gulshan Jha chipped in with a quick 14 off 5 balls.

Nepal had a strong start, scoring 73 runs for the loss of just one wicket in the first 10 overs. However, the run rate slowed down in the second half, preventing them from doubling the score.

For UAE, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Rohid, Zahid Ali, Dhruv Parashar, Harshit Kaushik, and Haider Ali each took one wicket.
