Kathmandu—Bablu Gupta, a youth activist associated with the GenZ movement, has said he does not know reports suggesting he might be appointed as a minister. His name had reportedly been recommended among four youth representatives, with speculation linking him to the post of Sports Minister.

Speaking to the media outside the President’s Office, Gupta said he has been working in youth and social initiatives for the past ten years and believes in “work over rumors.” He remarked, “This could be a media trial; I don’t chase such talk.”

Gupta added that Nepal tends to highlight negative news more than positive contributions and reiterated that he has no information regarding any ministerial appointment.

He further stated that some people may have floated his name based on his past work, but there was “no truth” behind the reports. “There’s no need to follow baseless rumors,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to continue working for youth and national development.
