Kathmandu – The Cabinet meeting on Thursday approved the promotion of four Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Nepal Police to Additional Inspector General (AIG), dissolved the Land Dispute Resolution Commission, and decided to implement the report of the high-level inquiry committee on visit visas.

According to government spokesperson and Minister for Communication Jagadish Kharel, the meeting also took decisions on matters related to national security, administration, economy, and disaster management.

Key Decisions of the Meeting:

  • Promotion and posting of DIGs Sushil Singh Rathour, Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha, and Dambar Bahadur Vishwakarma as AIGs.

  • Dissolution of the Land Dispute Resolution Commission formed under the Land Dispute Resolution Commission Formation Order 2081, along with all district committees.

  • Forwarding the report of the high-level visa inquiry committee to the Ministry of Home Affairs for implementation.

  • Declaration of Ilam district as a disaster-affected area for three months.

  • Approval for the Nepal Electricity Authority to issue energy bonds worth NPR 20 billion in phases to raise resources for hydroelectric projects.

  • Sending the Tribhuvan University Land and Immovable Property Investigation Committee report to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for implementation.

  • Forwarding the recommendations of the Civil Aviation Improvement Committee to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation for execution.
