Kathmandu – The family of Nepali citizen Bipin Joshi, who was abducted in Israel, has released a video showing signs that he is still alive after nearly two years of uncertainty.
According to the family, the video was found among “IDF spoils” (materials recovered during the war) and was delivered to them through Israeli intelligence agencies. The footage, believed to have been recorded in November 2023, shows Bipin under the control of Hamas.

In a statement, the family said, “On the second anniversary of that horrific massacre that left thousands of families grieving and our lives frozen in time, we have decided to share this sign of life from our beloved son. This is a pillar of faith and hope for us.”
Bipin Joshi was working in Israel when he was abducted from an unidentified kibbutz in October 2023. Ten of his Nepali colleagues were killed that day, a tragedy that deeply affected the Nepali community.
“For two years, we could not even imagine that Bipin was being held captive inside Gaza’s tunnels. But now, this is not imagination—it is reality,” the family said, expressing renewed hope after seeing the video.
The video had been kept under confidential military observation for several months before being cleared for public release. The family has appealed to political leaders and concerned authorities, urging, “In these decisive and historic days, let no political side give up. Bring back all 48 remaining hostages. We have not lost hope.”
