Kathmandu – The Nepali team has registered its second consecutive victory in the warm-up matches ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers. In today’s match, Nepal stunned Qatar by 16 runs.
Chasing Nepal’s target of 171 runs, Qatar managed only 154 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Despite Tanvir scoring a team-high 51 runs off 37 balls and Mirza adding a thrilling 40 runs at the end, Qatar fell short of the target.
Earlier, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 170 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel led the charge with a half-century, scoring 56 runs off 33 balls. Kushal Malla remained unbeaten with 38 runs off 20 balls, while Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 38 runs off 21 balls before getting out.
Prior to this, Nepal had defeated Oman by 6 wickets in Saturday’s warm-up match.
