Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has issued an ordinance to amend the Voter List Act, 2073. According to President’s Office spokesperson Pradeepkumar Koirala, the ordinance was issued on Wednesday under Article 114(1) of the Constitution upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
The government introduced the ordinance to open the process of collecting new voter names ahead of the elections scheduled for Falgun 21. The Election Commission will implement a plan specifying when the voter registration will start and end. Citizens who turn 18 on Falgun 20, 2082, will be eligible to vote on Falgun 21.
