Kathmandu: Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has dismissed rumors about banning NPR 500 and 1,000 banknotes. Speaking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, he said there has been no discussion on such a move.

Responding to questions on the impact of India’s GST on Nepali industries, Khanal said no significant damage has been observed, and adjustments would be made if necessary. He also clarified that the federal provinces established under the constitution will not be scrapped, adding that the issue is not currently under consideration.
