Kathmandu: Durga Prasai, coordinator of the National, Nationality, Religion-Culture, and Citizen Protection Campaign, has announced an indefinite movement to restore Nepal as a Hindu nation.

During a press conference in Bhaktapur on Tuesday, Prasai expressed dissatisfaction with the interim government formed under the Gen Z protests and stated that the movement would begin after the Chhath festival.

“We will demand the establishment of a Hindu kingdom reflecting Vedic Sanatan Dharma, alongside Kirat and Buddhist traditions, after Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath. The movement will continue until restoration is achieved,” he said.

Prasai claimed that the Gen Z movement was hijacked and that its objectives and outcomes had deviated. “There were fires at Singha Durbar and the Supreme Court. We were shocked. Foreign interference in Nepal has also increased,” he added.

He emphasized the weakening of religion and stressed the need to restore Nepal as a Vedic Sanatan Hindu nation. Prasai also criticized the current government, claiming it was not led by Gen Z but hijacked by ministers associated with the Barbara Foundation and Samata Foundation.

Prasai stated that his campaign focuses on anti-corruption efforts, lowering bank interest rates, and constitutional and systemic reforms. “The interest rate has decreased from 18 percent to 7 percent,” he noted.

The campaign aims to continuously protect the nation, national identity, religion, culture, and citizen rights.
