Kathmandu — Four newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy before President Ram Chandra Paudel today.
At a special ceremony held at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, at 3 PM, Mahabir Pun assumed office as Minister for Education, Science and Technology; former Justice Anil Kumar Singh as Minister for Industry, Commerce, Supplies and Land Reform; Dr. Madan Pariyar as Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development; and journalist Jagadish Kharel as Minister for Communication and Information Technology.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki had recommended five ministers for appointment, but the name of Additional Secretary Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra, who had been proposed as Health Minister, was withheld at the last moment, preventing her from taking the oath today.
