Kathmandu- A video circulating online shows Mahesh Basnet claiming that Sudan Gurung has been in talks with him about joining his party or being affiliated. Sudan Gurung has strongly denied all such allegations, calling them “complete lies.”
According to Sudan Gurung, he has never spoken to Mahesh Basnet, and such conversations will never happen in the future. He added that they do not recognize or respect Basnet.
The statement also serves as a warning to Mahesh Basnet that spreading false claims undermines national unity and disrespects the sacrifices of martyrs and the people. Legal protection under the Constitution does not exempt him from moral accountability.
Sudan Gurung urged the people of Nepal to remain cautious and not be misled by fabricated claims. He emphasized that he and the organization Hami Nepal have always stood with the people, and this movement belongs to the people, not corrupt politics.

The statement concluded: “We reject Mahesh Basnet. Mahesh Basnet is a liar. We reject every lie, manipulation, and false claim he makes. We stand only with the people, always.”
