Kathmandu- Following criticism over lapses in security during the Gen Z protests, the Kathmandu District Police Office has undergone a major reshuffle.
SSP Bishwo Adhikari, who took charge only eight months ago, has been transferred. He has been replaced by SSP Ramesh Thapa, regarded as an honest officer, who previously led police offices in Udayapur and Kaski.

Senior police officers, including SP Apil Raj Bohora and SP Kuldeep Chand, have also been transferred. Bohora has been posted to the Armed Police Force Battalion No. 1 in Naxal, while Chand has been moved to the Security Service Management Division. The Kathmandu Police setup will now operate with only one SP instead of two.
Additionally, DSP Mohan Mani Adhikari has been assigned to Swayambhu Circle, DSP Sundar Tiwari to the Cyber Bureau, and DSP Prahlad Karki to the Kathmandu Municipal Police Office.
