Khotang- A horrifying case has emerged from Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality-4, Khotang, where 27-year-old Reshmika Siva Pariyar was gang-raped and murdered on Monday evening. District Police Office Khotang chief, DSP Prakash Budhathoki, confirmed that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the crime.

According to preliminary investigations, a criminal group of 5–6 men intercepted Reshmika while she was returning home after finishing her work at a cooperative. They allegedly gang-raped her before killing her. Neighbor Dipak Sarki has been arrested and, during interrogation, revealed the names of other suspects involved. Police have deployed additional teams to track down the remaining fugitives.
Reshmika’s body was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, for postmortem and was later cremated on Wednesday at Budhikhol, Itahari.
DSP Budhathoki stated that all perpetrators will soon be brought under legal custody and assured that a special police operation will continue in Khotang until every suspect is arrested.
