Kathmandu—A disturbing incident took place in Gokarneshwor Municipality-7, Shiv Chowk, on Wednesday night, when a woman was attacked with a weapon inside her own home. The victim, identified as Sita Devi Pant, was having dinner when the assault occurred.
Police reported that Pant sustained moderate injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The accused, 37-year-old Karn Bahadur Tamang from Sindhupalchok, has been arrested in connection with the attack. Initial investigations revealed that Tamang had consumed alcohol before entering Pant’s room and attacking her with a sharp weapon.
Pant told police that she had no idea why she was targeted, claiming she had no prior conflict with the attacker. Tamang has been sent to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, for further investigation.
