Kathmandu- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stopped issuing not only visit visas but also work visas, according to Bhim Malla Thakuri, Vice President of NRNA UAE.

He said there is no clear information on how long the suspension will last, though Nepal’s current political situation could be a factor. Another possible reason cited is the growing fraud business involving visit visas and middlemen exploiting Nepali workers.

Although the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi has not received any official notice, several companies in Dubai and Nepal confirmed that visa applications are blocked and even previously processed visas are being canceled.

The UAE, home to nearly 800,000 Nepalis, remains one of the biggest labor destinations. The halt could directly impact thousands of workers and their families awaiting opportunities.
