Kathmandu – An army truck accident at Churiya Mai, on the Makwanpur–Bara border, injured 16 Nepal Army personnel on Tuesday afternoon, with three reported to be in critical condition, according to the Makwanpur District Police Office.

The truck, carrying 22 soldiers, was one of four vehicles traveling from No. 2 Rajdal Battalion in Tanahun towards Dhanusha under the command of Deputy Commander Harsha Bikram Adhikari. It veered off the road and fell around 12 feet from a bridge along the East–West Highway.

Rescue operations were carried out jointly by Nepal Police and Nepal Army, with support from multiple police units in Makwanpur and Bara. The injured were immediately taken to Hetauda Hospital for treatment, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal confirmed.
