Kathmandu — The body of 22-year-old Vikas Rasaili, who got trapped during a fire at Koteshwor Bhat-Bhateni supermarket, was recovered on Wednesday. Rasaili, originally from Khandadevi Rural Municipality–6, Ramechhap, had been residing in Lalitpur.
According to Lalitpur police SP Apil Bohara, Rasaili reached the fourth floor during the blaze on Bhadra 24, 2082, but could not escape. He made a final call to his father, saying, “Papa, I’m trapped on the fourth floor.”

His skeletal remains were discovered during cleanup operations on Wednesday. The body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem. Technical checks on a mobile phone found with the body confirmed it belonged to Rasaili. His father, Purnabahadur Rasaili, is currently in contact with the police.
Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances of the fire and assign responsibility.
