
Kathmandu – The government has revised the salary scale and benefits for employees starting from the new fiscal year. On Wednesday, the Ministry of Finance circulated instructions to all ministries, commissions, secretariats, and offices to implement the updated salary, grade, and monthly incentive allowances.
The highest civil service post, the Chief Secretary, will now receive a salary of NPR 90,594. The starting scale is NPR 84,932, with up to two grades added. The Chief of the Nepal Army will receive the same salary as the Chief Secretary.
Special class secretaries will earn NPR 84,576 in total. Retiring secretaries will receive a pension of NPR 66,539. The Inspector General of Nepal Police, the Inspector General of Armed Police, twelfth-level officers in the Health Service, and the Secretary of the Parliamentary Service will also receive salaries equivalent to civil service secretaries.
The ministry has finalized the salary and allowances for employees in the health service, community schools, parliament, and local governments as well.
