Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. In the mid-2000s, glamour and social service were advancing side by side in Nepali society. In this environment emerged Khusbu Oli. After winning the title of “Miss Teen” in 2006, she was not just a beauty pageant winner, but also began to be recognized as a capable speaker and a young woman dedicated to society.
Weekly magazines portrayed her as a “future Mother Teresa.” But life is not always as simple as imagined. Fate led her to a turning point where she encountered two men from completely different worlds—
One, who came from a wealthy family but was lost in addiction.
Another, who had made a name in the world of crime, yet was deeply loving.
1. Love that Began with Service (Khusbu and Arpan)
Khusbu chose the path of social service—working with street children, rescuing youths trapped in drug addiction, and running shelters. During this journey, she met Arpan Koirala, who himself was struggling in the darkness of addiction.
With Khusbu’s motivation and support, Arpan began to change. Their collaboration gradually turned into closeness, and that closeness evolved into love.
Their relationship grew so deep that a documentary was even made based on their lives and work.
For higher studies, they moved to London together. Living under the same roof for about three years, they shared love, struggles, and dreams for the future. By then, they were seen as an “ideal couple.”
2. The Collapse of Trust
However, after returning to Nepal, everything began to change. Arpan started falling back into his old habits.
Khusbu made every possible effort to help him—she even took him to a rehabilitation center in India, provided significant financial support, and risked her own family’s well-being.
But Arpan’s life continued to deteriorate. Along with addiction, gambling, unethical relationships, and financial irresponsibility further weakened his character.
Eventually, one day, Khusbu found Arpan in a compromising situation with other women. That moment shattered all trust.
Realizing that her love, struggles, and sacrifices had gone in vain, Khusbu made the difficult decision to end the relationship.
3. The Rise of “Chari”: Light Within Darkness
As her relationship with Arpan ended, another man had already entered Khusbu’s life—Dinesh Adhikari, widely known as “Chari.”
Chari was a well-known gang leader—fearless, influential, and controversial. But in his relationship with Khusbu, he revealed a different side.
His behavior reflected love, protection, and dedication.
Khusbu, who was emotionally broken, began to find new support in Chari. While Chari tried to provide her with security and stability, Khusbu brought softness and sensitivity into his harsh life.
Thus, the bond between a social worker and a man labeled a “villain” deepened.
4. A Tragic Ending
Khusbu’s life was now flowing between two shores—
On one side, the painful past with Arpan,
On the other, the hopeful present with Chari.
But fate tested her once again.
After Chari was killed in a police encounter, Khusbu’s life once again sank into emptiness.
Conclusion
This story is not just a love story of three individuals.
It is a complex intersection of dreams, trust, betrayal, change, and destiny.
Khusbu—a visionary young woman who sought balance between love and social service.
Arpan—a lover who, while walking the path of change, lost himself again in darkness.
Chari—a controversial figure who hid true love within his tough identity.
