Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. The government has formally moved to enhance accountability by deciding to establish a high-level commission dedicated to investigating the assets of political leaders and public officials. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, this powerful investigative body will be officially formed within a 15-day window. The commission is mandated to scrutinize the wealth of both political figures and government employees to identify any discrepancies or illicit gains. The probe is set to be conducted in two strategic phases: the first stage will focus on wealth accumulated after the 2006 (2062-63 BS) movement, while the second stage will extend the investigation back to 1991 (2048 BS) for a comprehensive financial review.
