Following the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) sweeping victory of 182 seats in the House of Representatives, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has dispatched a formal message of congratulations and best wishes to the party. According to Shishir Khanal, Head of RSP’s International Relations Department, the message from the CPC’s International Liaison Department expressed profound satisfaction regarding the burgeoning relationship and cooperation between the two political entities. The message emphasized a shared vision for strengthening ties between the two political forces in the days ahead.
The official correspondence highlighted the necessity of deepening mutual political trust between Nepal and China. It reiterated a firm commitment to constructing a “community with a shared future” aimed at the collective welfare of the people of both nations. Notably, the CPC lauded the leadership roles of Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and senior leader Balendra Shah, expressing confidence that under their stewardship, the traditional friendship between Nepal and China would evolve to reach unprecedented heights.
Furthermore, the CPC indicated a strong readiness to engage with the RSP through the exchange of governance experiences, mutual learning across various sectors, and the steady promotion of bilateral relations. In response to the gesture, Shishir Khanal reaffirmed that the RSP remains steadfast in its adherence to an independent foreign policy and the principles of Panchsheel, consistently prioritizing robust and stable relations with neighboring countries. On behalf of the party, Khanal extended sincere gratitude to the Communist Party of China for their solidarity and well-wishes, marking a significant moment in the party’s international diplomatic engagement.
