After RSP’s Victory, Baskota Urges: “Observe, Not Criticize—Stay Silent for Three Months”

Pressadda

Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu.  CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota has stated that the public has placed its trust in the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in the recent elections, advising other political leaders to remain silent for at least three months. Sharing his views on Facebook this Wednesday, Baskota emphasized the importance of respecting the public mandate. He remarked that it is up to the party elected by the people to decide how they intend to govern or operate.

Baskota noted that since the people have given a chance to a new force, it is wise to observe their working style rather than criticising them immediately. “RSP has won the election; how they run things is their concern. It is useless for others to say anything for the first three months of a new government’s tenure,” he wrote. He further added that the public believed in the promises made by RSP, and therefore, others should stop “scratching the pillars”—a metaphor for unnecessary or baseless criticism. This statement comes at a time when internal debates and satirical exchanges regarding the election results are surfacing among UML leaders.
