Balen-led Government to Have 11–15 Ministers, Small Cabinet Planned

Pressadda

Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu.  The government expected to be led by Balendra Shah (Balen) is likely to have a relatively small cabinet. Leaders of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) say the party is considering limiting the number of ministers to between 11 and 15.

According to RSP lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh, the party has discussed forming a compact cabinet to ensure more efficient governance. He said internal discussions have pointed toward keeping the ministerial positions within that range.

Singh also mentioned that he recently met senior leader Balen Shah and party chairman Rabi Lamichhane. During their meeting, they reportedly agreed that the cabinet should remain within 11–15 ministers. He also suggested that Balen Shah could potentially lead the government for the next five years.

Addressing recent rumors, Singh rejected claims that there is a growing rift between Balen Shah and Rabi Lamichhane. He stated that there is no internal conflict or dissatisfaction within the party leadership.
