Prakash Kafle/Kathmandu. Independent candidate Mahabir Pun, who was elected from Myagdi, has submitted the details of his election expenses. He presented the report to the District Election Office in Myagdi on Thursday.
According to the statement submitted to the Election Commission, Pun spent a total of Rs 2,868,868 during his election campaign. The breakdown shows Rs 10,000 spent on nomination registration, Rs 3,000 for purchasing the voter list, Rs 290,575 for campaign materials, Rs 660,998 for transportation and vehicle maintenance, Rs 140,000 for driver wages, Rs 1,307,619 for hotel accommodation and food, Rs 360,499 for diesel, Rs 25,300 for stationery, and Rs 70,877 under miscellaneous expenses. In the election held in Myagdi, Pun secured 22,850 votes, defeating his nearest rival Harikrishna Shrestha of CPN-UML, who received 7,912 votes. Pun won the election with a margin of 14,931 votes.
As per election regulations, all candidates must submit their campaign expense details to the Election Commission within 35 days after the election is completed.
