Kathmandu – Paudel has been arrested on charges of rape. Police reported that a 64‑year‑old man was taken into custody in connection with an alleged incident in Arjundhara, Jhapa. The arrested individual has been identified as Pramananda Paudel, a resident of Barahachhetra Municipality–7, Sunsari.
According to police, the incident allegedly took place around 9:30 p.m. on Magh 28 in Bairaghare, Arjundhara–9. The victim, a young woman originally from Ilam, had been living at her maternal uncle’s house for the past six to seven months.
After the victim’s side informed the Shanishchare police post, a police team was dispatched. Both the accused and the victim were taken into custody and brought to the Area Police Office in Birtamod for further investigation. Police stated that both were sent to the Provincial Hospital in Bhadrapur for medical examination. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
