Kathmandu – Nandasinh Budha, a leader of Nepali Congress UML in Karnali Province, has been found guilty in a corruption case. On Wednesday, the Special Court in Kathmandu convicted him along with three others.

Budha faced allegations from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for setting up a ‘fake school’ to embezzle funds. The case was filed on 19 Ashar in the Special Court, with a total fine of NPR 760,000 sought from Budha, the former Chief of the Dolpa District Technical Office; Rabichandra Pajiyar, accountant; Maniram Kurmi, accountant; and Sangita Budha, treasurer.

The bench, headed by Chief Judge Sudarshan Dev Bhatt and members Dilliratan Shrestha and Bidur Koirala, convicted Nandasinh and Sangita Budha. Both were sentenced to 1.5 years in jail and fined NPR 190,000 each.

Recently, Budha had also become a representative from Dolpa in UML’s 11th general convention.
