Rabilakshmi Chitrakar, Wife of Ex-PM Jhalnath Khanal, Returns to Nepal After 3 Months in India

Kathmandu. Ravilakshmi Chitrakar, wife of former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal, returned to Nepal on Monday after three months of treatment at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi, India.

She had suffered burns on approximately 15–17% of her body during a house fire at their residence amid the Gen Z movement. Due to severe injury to her left hand and risk of infection, part of her hand was surgically amputated.

Initially treated at Burn Hospital, Kirtipur, she was later flown to Delhi by air ambulance due to a worsening lung infection. With her condition now stable and improving, she is set to stay in a rented home in Dallu. She arrived in Kathmandu via Nepal Airlines’ regular flight on Monday evening.
