More Lawmakers Back House Restoration as JSP, Janamat Join Signature Drive

Support for restoring Nepal’s House of Representatives gains momentum as lawmakers from the Janata Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party, and an independent MP sign the petition, raising the total to 143.

Kathmandu. Lawmakers from the Ashok Rai-led Janata Samajbadi Party, Janamat Party, and one independent MP have signed in support of restoring the House of Representatives. The signatures were collected at the Nepali Congress parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.

Those signing include JSP’s Hasina Khan, Janamat Party’s Goma Labh Sapkota, and independent MP Yogendra Mandal. With their support, the total number of lawmakers backing the restoration has reached 143, including 75 from UML and 65 from the Nepali Congress.
