Vice-chair Astalakshmi Shakya, Standing Committee member Dr. Binda Pandey, and central members, including Ushakiran Timsina, Sharmila Karki, Rachana Khadka, and Sarita Nyaupane, announced their support for Pokhrel’s camp, saying the party needs leadership change and a stronger commitment to democratic practices.
During an interaction program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the leaders suggested that party chair KP Sharma Oli should step back to resolve the ongoing internal deadlock. Pokhrel has already declared his candidacy for the party chair position in the upcoming convention.
